PARKING MEETS COMMERCIAL: A BERKELEY REDESIGN

Through this redesign of the Upper Hearst Parking Structure in North Berkeley, my team and I strived to bring together two major populations and encourage more meaningful interaction through the integration of a commercial space into an ordinary parking lot. Targeting students and residents, the project serves as a convenient hub for accessing locally sourced products and prioritize smaller-scale, local businesses that are live under the shadow of large chain brands that currently dominate the space.
